Forty years ago, I was a psychic junkie. I had discovered reincarnation and also the mesmerizing power of psychics. Nonetheless, out of the blue, I was turned on to numerology. I was young and starting my career and marriage. I actually loved locating my next psychic. One day, someone said numerologist to me. I was a blank. I’d no clue what that meant. But I designed to discover out.
I was working in Dallas. I was told this numerologist.com was in Fort Worth and her name was Marie Norris. Sounded innocent enough. How can I book a numerology session with her? It was a bit complex. It seems Miss Norris wasn’t a big admirer of the contemporary use of the phone. She didn’t even have a secretary or answering machine. At any rate, I found out exactly where she lived and off I went.
Dallas isn’t as near Fort Worth as lots of people tell you. What happens in the early 1970s, it seemed even more. But gas was 29 cents a gallon so who cared. We did not have online then so I’d no quick way to explore what numerology was. I was a tiny bit familiar with astrology, these days I know just how small.
Her home was not too tricky to find quite possibly for a Dallas girl. I walked up to the door and also knocked wanting a good older lady to seem to graciously ask me in to an incredible home. She was really older and also a tremendous lover of cats by the number I first discovered. And possibly even a lover of mice since they dominated as well.
The first thing I noticed when entering was being overwhelmed by the ghastly smell. A nice southern woman, I’d never say anything about it. But I began to realize I could not breathe properly in its presence. She just asked me to sit down somewhere between the stacks of papers and slimy canned cat food. I did not understand how long this would take, though I wasn’t certain I could remain quite long time with the stench.
She asked me the name of mine as well as my birthday. I gave it and off she went. She started countless calculations starting at the top part of the page for the bottom then returned once again to the pinnacle with the second row. I am not sure, however, she place at least 6-7 rows of calculations after which you can began on the backside of the webpage. This went on for a lot of pages.
She was intensely wrapped up in her calculations. And then she’d just entirely stop and also slump down in what I should only describe as a “nap.” Just as I began to get concerned, she’d then suddenly sit up and go on. This seemed like an eternity. So, I discreetly excused myself as well as went outside to eagerly grab some fresh air.
I’d no idea that she was creating a numerology reading on me or even what that meant. I was simply expecting a deck of cards. But she was determined to give me the expertise of her. And certainly she did. When she done and asked me to come back in, she began telling me things I hadn’t actually asked about. With complete authority, she informed me i would get an environmentally friendly vehicle. I said, no, no. My vehicle is red and rather new. She said, “The next time you come, you will have an eco-friendly car.”
Somehow, she informed the interest in me. After she finished telling me where I would live, who I would be with and also what very best things have been for me, I started questioning her. It’s been a while, but I can remember she said she studied numerology at Stanford University. I have not idea in case that is correct, but I then looked around all the stacks of papers and found a map out on a table.
I subsequently discovered she was under contract with several different oil companies to tell them where you can drill for oil. Suddenly she became a little less unusual to me. I became fans of her. The next time I arrived, I discovered I’d an environmentally friendly vehicle. Each time I came I found a little bit about her, but not around numerology. She was not considering teaching jaoxth numerology, what a numerology chart is and the way life path numerology can be of help. She went about the calculations of her after which you can created her numerological predictions.
She explained she’d all the time stayed in Fort Worth. Her dad was an officer in the Army stationed at Ft. Worth. Occasionally she will arrive at her home at the same time I did in a gorgeous Cadillac. She explained that the driver had “rented” her for a party. She set up an office for the party goers to drop in and purchase their numerological readings.
I began to recognize that Marie Norris was an icon in the Fort Worth community. She advised everybody, from the very very rich on the not so abundant. She had just won them over doing what she did much better than someone else without tooting the own horn of her.
About ten years later after a much way too long abstinence, I was editing a film with my buddy George Kline. The production company of his had made the film in Dallas. While we had been chatting, he reminded me he was originally from Fort Worth. I became all bubbly and asked in case he knew Marie Norris. Just as bubbly, his eyes lighted up and he said, “Of course!” I said, hey we need to go see her.
He agreed as well as called the assistant of his to arrange a booking. His assistant called again and alerted us that Miss Norris was no longer living. We were devastated. Who’d we visit for numerological readings.
Marie Norris never educated me in numerology, never developed my numerology report or even chart. But she gave me an appreciation of numerology that I continue to have forty years later on. I have the internet today to learn more and more numerology, numerological predictions and numerology readings. So, that is what I’m going to do to honor the dear Miss Norris. It is time.
